It is with a heavy heart that we announce the sudden passing of Lloyd T. Price, N2KPC, on Sunday, February 15, 2026. A dedicated ham, mentor, and fixture in the South Jersey and Greater Philadelphia radio communities, Lloyd’s absence leaves a void that will be deeply felt across the bands.
Lloyd was a true "Renaissance Man" of amateur radio. While many knew him as the tireless Net Manager for the Ten-Tec Amateur Radio Net, our members knew him as the club’s primary eye on the sky. He was incredibly active in Space Weather and ISS reporting, ensuring our groups.io community was always informed of solar flares, propagation shifts, and the latest station passes.
Despite the distance, Lloyd was a stalwart supporter of the Phil-Mont Mobile Radio Club. He regularly made the trek from his home in Mount Holly, NJ, to our meetings in Willow Grove, proving that his commitment to the hobby and his fellow members knew no borders. His presence at our gatherings and his consistent voice on the air served as a bridge between the South Jersey and Pennsylvania ham communities. Beyond the shack, Lloyd was a man of service and diverse passions. He served his community as a Firefighter and Pump Operator, and when he wasn't on the air, he could often be found bird-watching or train-spotting—hobbies he enjoyed right up un- til his final day.
He is survived by his wife, Gaye (KB2YOA). The amateur radio community has lost a true "Elmer," a technical expert, and a loyal friend.
73, Lloyd. We will miss your reports, your wisdom, and your friendship.
